2015 Ford F-150: It’s Not All Aluminum

While you’ve undoubtedly heard about the Ford F-150 and its aluminum-intensive unitized body, did you know that the frame construction material remains steel? Similar to its aluminum body, the frame has also been redesigned.

The 2015-2020 F-150 frame is made of HSLA 550, landing it in the high-strength steel realm. While cracks remain unrepairable, Ford offers a number of service parts including front frame horns, front suspension brackets, front stubs, and rear stubs.
