Chevrolet introduced the latest generation Corvette, the C8. This 2020 model is completely redesigned and only uses one part from the previous generation. I-CAR developed a course in cooperation with the vehicle maker for the Chevrolet Corvette C8.
The Collision Repair Of The 2020 General Motors (GM) Corvette C8 course details the construction materials the structure and body are made from, such as:
- Aluminum
- Carbon fiber
- Sheet molded compound (SMC)
- High-strength steel (HSS)
There are a number of attachment methods discussed, including:
- Welding
- Flow drill screws
- Structural blind rivets
- Impact resistant structural adhesive
Information on advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) includes calibration and programming requirements. Available ADAS on the C8 are:
- Rear view camera
- Rear park assist
- Blind spot detection
- Rear cross traffic
